Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer to edit a bizarre and enigmatic video for an anonymous employer. Short of money and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely just an elaborately staged fiction. But when the first job leads to an even more lucrative job and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures in her apartment, horrific nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness plagues her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer really is and the lengths she will go to get out of her contract.
